ANALOG REALITY: UNDERSTANDING THE BODY AS A VIRTUAL SPACE
Workshop with kollektiv kunststoff, ages 12 and above (DE)
Choreographic Scores Between Physical Presence and Digital Logic
How can digital worlds be understood through physical movement? Can we use perception and movement to dissolve the boundaries between visibility and invisibility, as well as reality and fiction?
In this workshop, we explore augmented reality with participants as a purely analog experience. Through guided movement and improvisation exercises, partner work, and choreographic scores, “augmented realities” emerge that can only be experienced through the body and attention. Everyday situations are reinterpreted, spaces transformed, and relationships between bodies consciously shaped.
The focus is on the question of how reality is constructed and how proximity, distance, and presence can be renegotiated in the wake of digital experiences—entirely without technology, but with a heightened awareness of what arises between people.
Workshop leaders: Waltraud Brauner and Stefanie Sternig // kollektiv kunststoff
kollektiv kunststoff is a collective comprising Christina Aksoy, Waltraud Brauner, Raffaela Gras, and Stefanie Sternig. It explores the open-ended nature of contemporary art in a variety of ways. To this end, it aims to raise awareness and encourage reflection as well as engage with sociopolitical issues.
Since 2011 the collective has been working in the fields of contemporary choreography, dance, and cultural education. It aims to make contemporary dance and performance more accessible to a wide range of audiences by exploring them from different perspectives.
