Join Vienna Digital Cultures curator Nadim Samman on a guided tour through Lu Yang—The DOKU Trilogy (2018–2025), a large-scale video trilogy that combines video game aesthetics, motion-capture technology, and Buddhist philosophy to explore the dissolution of selfhood across digital, biological, and spiritual systems.

Lu Yang (b. 1984, Beijing) is one of China’s most prominent artists operating on the international scene. Their work questions how identity and consciousness are currently understood, and how personal identities can be digitally represented, replicated, and transformed.
