ONE MORE SIM
by Joaquina Salgado
Like a simulation, a memory is always unclear, its limits bleeding into everything else. It has agency of its own, leaving us as mere spectators of its whims. If a memory were granted a body, what would it do?
One More Sim is an experiment in intimacy and the inner world of the image. It navigates the friction of simulation theory by assembling situations and new information from the precise point where existing knowledge breaks down, thus expanding our understanding of the world through the 'partitive nature' of these systems.
Within this simulated-simulator, water becomes the spectral holder of nested worlds, each independent of one another and framed by a maximalist UI. Entering each world is like stepping into the mind of a new lover: being embraced by the boundary-bending togetherness that is a raw encounter with another soul.
