Festival and Exhibition Opening

We warmly invite you to celebrate the festival and exhibition opening with us.

The exhibition Model Collapse marks the opening of the first edition of the Vienna Digital Cultures at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz. The focus is on artistic works that examine the interactions between digital culture, technology and social power relations.

Works by Eva & Franco Mattes, Joey Holder, Kate Crawford & Vladan Joler, Arvida Byström, Mathias Gramoso and the artist collective Troika will be on view for the duration of the festival. The exhibition addresses algorithmically controlled self-images, speculative non-human intelligences, historical technopolitics, deepfake pornography and the aesthetics of machine vision.

In the public space around Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz, the augmented reality installation //ONTOLOGICAL_GLITCH:// by Belma Bešlić-Gál, Catherine Spet and Markus Wintersberger (in cooperation with Kultur 1) deals with the overlapping of physical and digital experience and poses the question of the autonomy of artificial intelligence.
